Sustainability assessment model for mass housing's interior rehabilitation and its validation to Ekbatan, Iran

Mass housing (MH) buildings from the ‘60s to ‘80s, after decades of continuous use and inadequate maintenance, cause several sustainability issues need rehabilitation. Most current conventional rehabilitation approaches have long been criticized because they consider neither requirements nor contemporary building standards. In this regard, assessment selection suitable for rehabilitating MH interiors, a holistic viewpoint, is crucial issue that faces challenges since multidisciplinary multi-criteria process. On subject, present study develops novel MCDM model based on MIVES Delphi methods MHs’ interior considering involved stakeholders' preferences. This MIVES-Delphi relies comprehensive literature review, experts' seminars, on-site surveying, LCA, BIM, user/expert-based questionnaires, bias reduction, sensitivity analysis. The was first applied in Ekbatan case study, largest Iran, assess four different scenarios, including three common scenarios plus an innovative one. Consequently, new validated, most sustainable scenario selected. specific results regarding these scenarios' evaluation disclosed none could either meet minimum target value or serve as proper solutions MH's Contrarily, fourth scenario, with global index 0.71, standard target. outcome provides possibility processes positive effects increasing performance buildings.
